Greco SA550, walnut finish, made in Japan 1975. Good golly, what a beautiful item. Greco were starting to hit their stride in the mid 70s, and although this is old enough to be a little quirky, it's a lovely guitar. The walnut finish shows off plenty off gorgeous grain patterns, and paired with a sweet dark rosewood board and the aged cream binding, it looks spectacular. Being fully hollow, there's heaps of natural resonance, and it's super lightweight. The Greco-stamped Maxon U-1000 pickups do a great job of translating all that acoustic goodness plugged in: it's gooey, rich and warm, but with plenty of definition and clarity and a mile-wide midrange illuminating all the detail in your big chords. The neck is pretty slim but feels comfy and the hardware is all in good order despite the miles on the clock. All in all: what a delight.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some dimples on the end and some scuffs on the front around some of the posts and on the back near the join. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back and some rub wear on the binding only. The back has widespread light surface scratches, most notably in the middle of the body, as well as some checking lines around the neck joint. The sides have a couple extra of extra holes from removed strap pins and some scuffs on the top horn, some dimples and a couple of chips in the elbow area and some dimples near the jack and on the bottom horn. The binding has a number of small cracks around the whole body, but it's held up pretty well overall. The front has a chip around the jack, scuffs around the knobs, tailpiece, elbow area and bridge, a scratch under the strings between the pickups, as well as some play wear on the horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: The neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets have been recently levelled and dressed and have plenty of height left, 7/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
