Greco SV-800 semi-hollow, sunburst, made in Japan 1978-80. The Super View series debuted in 1979 and has enjoyed great acclaim since: these are lovely guitars. The late 70s was a bit of a 'golden era' for Greco, so this was made before the CNC router arrived in Japanese guitar manufacturing; it's a handmade beauty. It sounds superb: there's a depth and complexity to the mids that's very satisfying. The mids are matched by an expressive, clear top end a full, thick low end. There's a singing sustain on deck too; it's so much fun for both juicy rhythm parts or wailing lead lines. The plain top is nicely book matched and looks gorgeous under the vintage sunburst; this has a classy understated look that will surely will look equally good on a wall in the house or on stage. The neck is a slim, round profile; the frets look new and the three-piece construction keeps it straight and stable... it feels great in the hands. The body is slightly smaller than a regular 335; it's comfortable, super resonant and generally a good time. These are increasingly in demand and seldom seen around these parts, so if you're after a knockout-good semi hollow with a whole lot of class, nab yourself this and strum yourself to ecstasy.
