Ibanez JS600, black, made in Korea 1994. I remember when I first played a Satriani signature model... it pleasantly surprised me. If you tend to shy away from RGs etc with a hard-D profile flat neck and super high output pickups, this might pleasantly surprise you also: it's got a comfy sensible round neck and some tasteful moderate output splittable humbuckers. The easy-access neck joint gets you right up to the 22nd fret no problems, plus the rounded body edges are very comfy. It's very easy to play, very easy indeed. The hefty bridge and chrome pickup surrounds add a little sci-fi twist to an otherwise fairly understated look; it's a slick machine. Plugged in via the quirky angled input, you get a smooth and balanced tone that's equally happy clean or smothered in saturated gain... but hey, the more gain the merrier, right? This model was only made for one year and is beautifully put together; history will be kind to these early Korean Ibanez models I'd say. Do you Joe?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a couple of light dents in the middle and a few dimples around the body, no major marks. The sides are pretty clean save for a few dimples around from the jack and knobs. The front is pretty tidy too, just a few dimples behind the bridge and in the elbow area and some play wear above and below the strings. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, there's the start of some pitting but they're pretty even in height with no major buzz issues; 5/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10-46 Moonshiners strings.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
