(SOLD) Ibanez RG507 w/ Mods Magenta 1999
Ibanez RG507 (I think!), refinished to magenta, made in Japan 1999. This has been modded pretty comprehensively, so there's a bit of guesswork involved, but hey, close enough for jazz. This has an 'F99...' serial, so it was made at the famed Fujigen Gakki plant in Japan in 1999. It's got a superb, super-fast neck, it's straight and stable and shaped for maximum comfort at high speeds. The Floyd-style Edge tremolo, twenty four tall frets and easy-access neck carve all add to the shredtastic feel. The body has been refinished to a vibrant magenta pink, plus the guard has been added and the pickups remounted accordingly. It's been re-wired with new pickups and switching, so it does a variant on the Gilmour 7-way switching, but with humbuckers for more djugability. The Dimarzio pickups are awesome, there's a lovely sweet smoothness to the attack and a great balance between crunchy warm gain and crisp clarity. The extra toggle allows for some interesting combos, including the Gibson-style neck+bridge humbuckers setting, a handy setting you don't normally get on an RG. It's a vibrant and unapologetic look, so if you're not in the business of playing Wonderwall for the 900th time, perhaps you can get around this lurid creation. Plus, no shame in modding it further if you please... we're all just part of the story on guitars we own, right?

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some minor marks on the end and bottom edge, note the truss cover is missing. Neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and glossing from play on the back only. The back has widespread dimples and scuffs, some rub wear along the body carve and the original cavity sealed in and painted over. The sides have some dimples on the top horn, near the rear strap pin and along the bottom edge, as well as some checking around the body. The front has a couple of dimples up from the neck pickup, rub wear on the top edge of the top horn and elbow area, widespread light scuffs and some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have minor wear, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10-46 Moonshiners strings.
