Ibanez Vintage Series V300S dreadnought acoustic, made in Japan 1981, natural finish. This is a friendly old thing. It's not complicated: solid spruce top, mahogany back and sides, rosewood board, fairly standard construction in many ways. This line was hand made at the time, so there's a lot of love that's gone into it. The tone is snappy, bright and loud; there's plenty of natural definition and volume. The pickup is basic but translates the acoustic tone fairly effectively without the nasal tone you sometimes get from a piezo style. Adding a few decades to an acoustic rarely does harm, and this has surely mellowed nicely to a merry old soul.

Model: Ibanez Vintage Series V300S
Made: 1981 approx, Japan (serial 781228)
Finish: natural, gloss poly
Body: traditional dreadnought shape, solid spruce top, laminate mahogany back and sides
Neck: mahogany, rosewood fingerboard, dovetail joint, 25.5" scale, 15" radius
Mods: pickup added, headstock repaired (see nots below)
Pickup: Seymour Duncan 'Woody' magnetic soundhole pickup (removable)
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has some marks on the end. The headstock has broken and been professionally repaired at some point, you can see a line from the repair. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, no major marks. The back has a handful of light scuffs and surface scratches, no major marks. The sides have a few dimples and light scuffs around the body, no major marks. the front is pretty clean, just a couple of dimples near the edge on the shoulder and bottom side and some play wear on the guard and above the strings. Overall: very good condition (8/10).

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets look nice and even and in pretty good shape, 7/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 12/54 Moonshiners strings.
