Martin DCX1E acoustic/electric, made in USA 2005. Martin & Co invented the dreadnought shape back in the 19th century, and to this day, no-one really does it as well as Martin. This guy pre-dates the X-series' move to Mexican manufacturing, so it's made in Martin's traditional home in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. This one also has some no-compromise features you don't get on a new equivalent: rosewood fingerboard and bridge, a bone nut and an exceptional Fishman Prefix preamp system. It sounds great plugged in, it's got a very natural and warm tone with excellent dynamic response. Unplugged, the deep resonance really sings; it's a pleasure to feel the notes ring through your chest when you strum it. The top has faded to golden brown colour, it's a little unusual and lends the guitar a cool vintage aesthetic. This is a really lovely acoustic, it's comfy to play and sounds great... what more could you want?

Model: Martin & Co DCX1E
Made: 2005, Nazareth PA, USA (serial 1128653)
Finish: natural satin
Body: solid spruce top, 'HPL' laminate back and sides
Neck: laminate neck, rosewood boaard
Mods: none
Pickup: Fishman Prefix, factory fitted
Case: non-original hardcase, good quality and fair condition

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The top has faded quite a lot from it's original colour, it's quite a rich dark hue and almost looks like cedar, but it's definitely spruce. There's a minor ding behind the pickguard, aside from that it's just some light play-scratches and the occasional dimple. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good. Frets are in great shape with minor wear only, 8/10. Setup with fresh 12/53 gauge strings. Playing beautifully!
