Maton Nashville, natural finish, made in Australia 2015. This guitar has sung a few songs already, and it's surely keen to sing some more just for you. The 808 shape is Maton's classic small body steel string, not dissimilar to a Martin 000, but a little deeper for extra balance and volume. It's a comfy shape to sit with: not too big, great cutaway, lightweight and with a comfy slim C neck... no problem at all for long sets. The tone is classic Maton stuff: dry and warm through the mids, understated tuneful lows, nice and crisp on the top end without being harsh. The AP5 pickup is great too, it's a dual sensor style setup so you can balance the snappiness of the piezo with a more rounded tone from the mic. This was recently re-fretted in stainless steel by our local pro luthier, so the frets are in good shape henceforth forever. These fetch a dollop over three grand new these days, so this is a pretty friendly buy if you're in the market for a hardworking guitar, Handy!
