Morris W-25 dreadnought, made in Japan circa 1978, natural finish. Morris is one of Japan's most successful and longest running acoustic builders. The brand was launched in 1967 by luthier Toshio "Mori" Moridaira and still makes over 6000 guitars per year today. We've dated this one to the late 70s by label, logo and hardware, so it's a charming old creature with plenty of chords on the clock. The neck is a moderately slim soft V, with a pleasant action and tidy fret and finish work. It sounds crisp and dry, with a shimmery top end adding some sparkle and definition. This is a simple and enjoyable vintage dreadnought made with care, and that's always a nice thing to have.
