Ormsby GTR Metal V, red dead finish, made in Korea 2021. If you're not familiar, Ormsby started back in 2003 based out of Perth, Australia. Master luthier Perry Ormsby started out building custom guitars from scratch, built for speed and precision, and that arm of the operation continues to this day. These GTR series instruments take the Ormsby designs and move the building to excellent WMI factory in Seoul, South Korea. This one is perfect for djazz: high output humbuckers,  Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo bridge, twenty four jumbo frets on a flat shreddable board and an easy-access neck joint, all on a Rhoads style V body. It's a beautifully made instrument, everything is executed to a brilliant standard. It's surprisingly bright plugged in: the neck pickup is rich and zesty, balanced of course by a huge bottom edge. The bridge pickup has ceramic magnets to deliver a tight, creamy growl with heaps of girth through the low notes and plenty of natural compression. These seldom pop up on the used market, so nab yourself a handy bargain and save the months of waiting on a new one. Thanks Perry!
