PRS SE Mike Mushok, silverburst, made in Korea 2011. Mike Mushok played guitar for American nu-metal act Staind. Now, confession time: fourteen year old me loved Staind, even going as far as to cover 'It's Been Awhile' at my school battle-of-the-bands event in 2002. Of course, I wanted a baritone guitar at the time, but alas... Anyway, this guitar is a big beefy bari with a 27.7" scale neck tuned to drop A. It's got a classy ebony board and a comfy moderate C shape, and at 3.3kg it's nice and light. All that means it's pretty comfy and agreeable to play, you don't have to wrestle it too much. The bridge pickup has been upgraded to a Duncan Distortion, so that brings the goods for chonks: thick, fat, juicy, pushed mids, hefty lows... chugg away, friends. The neck pickup cleans up remarkably well, and you can dial some really nice thick warbling lead and chord sounds that really make the most of the natural low end. The silverburst finish looks great too, it's a bit of a Starscream-buys-a-Strat vibe. Thanks Mushy!
