Peavey T-60, natural finish, made in USA 1979. The T-60 is a cult favourite; it's been described as the most underrated guitar of all time by it's enthusiasts. It was a pretty groundbreaking guitar in it's day, not just because of the innovative electronics; it was the first guitar ever produced using CNC router machines. The solid unchambered northern ash body certainly isn't light, but it really delivers in the tone department: this guitar sounds amazingly rich, thick, bright and full. You can really hear the character of the ash, it's such a beautiful tonewood... not to mention it's subtle good looks! One interesting feature is the tone knobs: when set above 7/10, the coils are split to a single coil. Below that point the knobs act normally. It's cool to wind in the two coils according to your whims; the pickups deliver in either mode. The T-60 is a truly unique design that carves it's own path instead of endlessly recycling the ideas of the usual suspects, it really is a brilliant sounding guitar! This one has a few marks to keep her honest, including a quirky little homage to it's past in the form of a name lightly etched into the body, but it's just had a re-wire and full re-fret from our esteemed luthier partner Jon Parsons, so it's in great playing shape with a superb low action. If you regularly record guitar tracks, this could well be your new best friend!

Model: Peavey T-60
Made: USA 1979 (serial 00321633)
Finish: satin natural
Body: northern ash, 3-piece (total weight approx 4.8kg)
Neck: maple, maple board
Mods: phase switch removed, pickup switch replaced, bone nut installed
Pickups: original Peavey humbuckers
Case: none

Cosmetic condition notes: moderate finish wear. There's an extra hole in the guard where a phase switch has ben removed. There's a few minor scuffs along the edge of the headstock and some minor dings on the back of the neck. The guard has a lot of play wear, and there's some scratches on the body, especially around the sides, but nothing nasty. There's a proper chip around the input jack, but it's inconsequential.  The back is fairly scratched up, but it's really not that noticeable. There's a very light etching only visible when the light hits the body on the right angle reading 'Minister Marcus Jones' on the body a few cm up from the bridge. Overall: good condition (6.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is very low. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have no wear as they're brand new, 10/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s and ready to roll!

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
