PGM Strat style, blonde finish, made in Japan 1995. These days, Professional Guitar Manufacture offer guitars under their sub-brands, Moon and Vanzandt. Moon is the modern-style stuff: mostly J-style basses with active preamps and exotic woods, but also superstrats etc. Vanzandt is the vintage style stuff: think Fender Custom Shop, but done in Japan. This one is under the PGM brand, but it'd be closer to a Vanzandt in terms of styling. First up, that neck: oh boy, that's quite the piece of birdseye maple. There's intense figure all the way from the heel to the headstock, it looks stunning. The finish on the body is super thin, as visible around the tremolo cavity and in the in the occasional mark on the body, and lets the grain on the ash body peep through alluringly. At 3.3kg it's very light, and in the hands, it's extremely lively and responsive. The neck is a moderately slim C style shape with a bend-friendly modern radius, and despite a bit of fret-wear it's playing clean and fast all around the board. The pickups are unbranded on the bottom, but they deliver the goods. The tone is fat and rich with amazing harmonics and clarity. Every note springs to live in vivid detail and gooey warmth, it's such a delight. It sounds every bit as good (better?) as any Fender CS I've had the pleasure of playing, it's very convincing indeed. If you come into the shop and play it, you'll have to have it... best prepare yourself for that conundrum I suppose.

Model: PGM ST-Classic
Made: Tokyo Japan, neck date 9 Mar 1995
Finish: blonde, appears to be thin gloss nitro
Body: ash, two piece centre join

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has some dimples on the end, bottom edge and back, no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has widespread light scuffs around the whole body, some dimples along the back edge and around the cavity and some fade marks along the belly carve. The sides have dimples around the whole body and a few dents in the elbow area. The front has a handful of chips in the elbow area, a few dimples around the jack and behind the bridge and some standard play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: very good condition (7.5/10).

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. The frets have some normal wear, they're pretty low but fairly even with no major buzz issues,  5/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
