Rickenbacker 330, fireglo finish, made in USA 2016. The 330 is a classic shape, no other guitar looks quite like it. The not-quite-F-hole, art deco angles, lacquered fretboard and classy lines have a distinctive 1960s aesthetic. The fireglo finish sets the whole thing off perfectly too, it's delightful. Plug this in and try and resist playing big open rhythm parts if you can... it absolutely nails the Brit-rock sound and eats up an expansive six note chord. There's a fun balance of chime and girth, with a detailed grainy midrange that lends heaps of definition and attack. The neck is slim and sturdy and the body is nice and light, it's got a particular feel in the hands but once you're used to it, it's pretty intuitive. These are tricky to source in Australia, so if you've been waiting for one to pop up, here's your shot at the title.
