Squier SST33 Silver Series Strat, made in Japan in 1993/4 in sunburst. The Silver Series heralded a return to Japanese manufacturing for Squier, and were very well received at the time owing to the excellent build quality from the legendary Fujigen factory. This one has a tasty aged maple board; it looks awesome paired with the slighty worn sunburst finish. The neck is awesome in the hands: it's an arrow-straight high quality piece of maple with a slick satin finish and enough hours to feel like an honest working guitar. Tone-wise, this benefits from some added clarity owing to some Fender Noiseless pickups and upgraded electronics. The classic 'Strat spank' is absolutely on deck; it's got that bluesy wail absolutely down-pat. These leave new Squier options (and some much more expensive guitars, too) for dead in terms of playability and tone, so join a cute little club and add this to your stash.
