Squier SST33 Silver Series Strat, made in Japan in 1993/4 in blueburst 'Foto Flame' finish. The Silver Series heralded a return to Japanese manufacturing for Squier, and were very well received at the time owing to the excellent build quality from the legendary Fujigen factory. The finish is a photograph of some highly flamed maple printed onto a photographic film and wrapped around the body, an internet-renowned 90s-era Fender oddity. The wrap has now cracked, revealing it's true nature... there's a certain kitsch charm about it, especially now that the real body is peeking through. Unlike other Foto Flame guitars, the neck on this is finished in natural satin, so that feels brilliantly smooth in the hands. Tone-wise, this has plenty of classic Strat-spank on tap; it's a great sounding guitar that'll rival many expensive options out there for tone and feel. If you're after a quirky little Strat that's a great player and doesn't take itself too seriously, this might be your new mate.

Model: Squier Silver Series Stratocaster, SST33-R
Made: Japan, Fujigen plant, 1993/94 (serial Q027075)
Finish: 3-tone sunburst, black 3-ply guard
Body: 'wood fibre', appears to be basswood
Neck: maple with rosewood board, 25.5" scale, 7.25" radius
Weight: 3.325kg
Mods: none
Pickups: original Fender Japan ST Single x3
Case: very basic gig bag

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's some minor dimples on the end of the headstock. The back of the neck has a couple of minor scuffs but feels slick in the hands. The back has some light and shallow buckle rash scratches, mostly on the cavity cove, as well as some cracks in the finish film and a noteworthy chip on the bottom horn. The sides have a few marks on the top and bottom horns and shoulder, as well as a few marks near the input jack. The front has a handful of minor marks near the bridge and on the top horn, some cracks in the film and some play wear on the guard. Overall: good condition (7/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have very minor wear only,  8.5/10 for life left. Setup with fresh 10/46s.
