Squier SST33 Silver Series Strat, made in Japan in 1993/4 in sunburst. The Silver Series heralded a return to Japanese manufacturing for Squier, and were very well received at the time owing to the excellent build quality from the legendary Fujigen factory. This one is wearing a flashy coat of dakota red; a finish massively outnumbered by sunburst and black examples and certainly worthy of praise. The combo of the bright red body, black guard and worn maple board lend this a heap of self assured cadillac swagger; it's surely destined for the stage. The satin finished neck feels outstanding; it's a delight in the hands and as that 'played in' smoothness that can't really be faked. The tone on offer defies logic: it's a seriously good sounding Strat, easily competing with far pricier guitars for clarity, dynamic response and character. These Silver Series models are steadily creeping up in acclaim and value, so nab one in a killer finish while it's looking for love.

The neck has some glossing from play and minor dimples on the back and some cool play wear on the board as per the pics. The back has some minor dents and dimples near the back and bottom edge and along the belly carve. The sides have some dimples on the top horn and shoulder and some small dents near the jack and on the bottom horn. The front is pretty clean, jut some scuffs above and behind the bridge and some normal play wear scratches on the top horn and guard. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear but are fairly even in height with no major buzz issues, 6/10 for fret life left. Setup with fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
