Sterling Ray34, black, made in Indonesia 2023. The Stingray is a classic genre of bass, launching in 1976 as Leo Fender's first offering since leaving the company that bore his name. These Sterling models deliver the recipe for a more accessible dollar: high mass bridge, big fat humbucker, active EQ, comfy neck. This is a recent example with the ever-popular roasted neck, and it feels great. It's strung up with super light strings for extra slappability, which is a lot of fun. The tone is immediate, with an abundance of presence in the highs, growl aplenty in the mids and a fast, snappy bass. This one presents as near-new, so you can save a few bucks and score a decent case at the same time. Handy dandy.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has no major marks. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has minor scuffs on the back edge. The sides have no major marks. The front has minor dimples near the knobs, around the bridge and in the elbow area and some play wear on the guard and horns.

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 40-95 Ernie Ball strings.
