(ARCHIVE) Suzuki SG Style Cherry Red c1990

Suzuki SG style, cherry red, made... at some point, somewhere! This one is a bit of a mystery. There's no serial or model number on it, so gathering info has proved pretty tricky. Suzuki acoustic guitars pop up all the time, but their electrics are seen far less often. This one looks to date roughly to the 1990s, going on logos and condition. The neck features a sweet piece of rosewood; it's very pretty and a nice easy round shape. The body is nicely weighted and well put together, it's reassuring in the hands. The classic SG snap and growl is on tap: the tone is pretty hi-fi and certainly punches well against the ubiquitous Epiphone options. If you don't mind a little uncertainty in your life, this is a ripper little guitar for a tiny dollar.

There's a tiny chip on the neck joint, no cracks through. The back has a handful of minor dimples and surface scratches, no major marks. Sides have a few little chips and scuffs on the shoulder, near the jack and on the bottom horn, no major marks. The front is pretty clean, just some scuffs on the shoulder and some play wear on the guard and top horn. Overall: good condition (7/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, action is low, intonation is good. Frets have very little wear, 8/10 for fret life left. All electronics tested and working properly. Setup with fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings
