Takamine No. 30 Classical, made in Japan 1979, natural finish. Takamine had been making instruments long before they made this one, and they've always done things to an exceptional standard. This is a really lovely vintage nylon string, built from a traditional cedar/rosewood tonewood combo. It's got a full, assured low end, paired with a tasty subtle snap through the highs that lends plenty of articulation to your fingerwork. The solid cedar top features some gorgeous tight grain, and with four decades of yellowing on the finish, it's a glorious golden hue. The neck is a sturdy and comfy shape and blessed with an extremely dark piece of rosewood... what a looker. Simple, classy, full of character... I like it.
