Takamine TD-27, sunburst, made in Korea 1983. This is a cutie, I like it. Vintage Takamine stuff is always well made and pleasing to the eyes and ears, and while this isn't a particularly high end offering, it's still packing some gorgeous grain and heaps of tonal majesty. The sunburst looks great, it's yellowed and mellowed to a cool vintage hue. The back is where the real magic is: the flamed mahogany looks stunning, it's so cool. The sound is bright and shimmery with an understated, tuneful low end; it's balanced and bright and strums up a treat. This is a charming thing, it'll be an old friend in no time.
