Maton M808, made in Melbourne 2011, natural finish. It's a cute little thing, is it not? Maton's 808 shape is a favourite with working players all over the country: it's comfy and convenient and perfect if you're playing long sets at the local watering hole. The neck is comfy and slim and the AP5 Pro pickup works a charm, it's very agreeable indeed. The M Series guitars were made from solid mahogany, which lends some depth and warmth to the signature shimmery top end typical of many Maton guitars. It's great for fingerstyle stuff, the gooey midrange has a vocal-esque quality that hangs together nicely. Pretty slick for an Aussie.
