Bacchus Live Road, Joe Perry (Aerosmith) signature LP copy, made in Japan circa late 90s. If you know Bacchus, you know these are pretty unique among the Japanese builders. Bacchus don't use machines in their Japan factory, everything is built by hand. They also make their own parts and wind their own pickups, and they're notoriously picky with wood. Bacchus only made Gibson copies in between 1991-2005, since the halt in production the prices on guitars like this have crept upwards steadily and are set to continue to do so for a long while yet. This one is a late 90s example, towards the end of their Gibson copy era, and it's a perfect example of why these are cult-heroes; the solid book matched flame maple top is stunning, the body is light and resonant, the neck is immaculate, the workmanship is amazing. The pickups really are excellent, they have a creamy, defined, rich voice with great balance. This is a seriously good LP, it'll give guitars at 5-10 times the price a proper scare.
Model: Bacchus Live Road (Joe Perry signature LP copy)
Made: 1997-05, Japan (no serials on Bacchus Japan stuff)
Finish: black burst over flame maple
Body: mahogany, with solid flame maple top (not a veneer)
Neck: mahogany, rosewood board with trapezoid inlays
Mods: locking grover machine heads fitted, rosewood truss cover fitted, knobs replaced with strat-style (all these are easily reversible)
Pickups: original hand wound Bacchus PAF style covered humbuckers
Case: none
Bonuses: original black Gotoh machine heads, original truss rod cover in pearl white
Cosmetic condition notes: Very minor finish wear. There's a handful of minor dimples and scratches, but really it's close to perfect. Black bridge and machine heads etc all basically pristine, plastics looking good. The black face of the headstock has faded a little, as is common on this style of headstock. Overall: very good to excellent condition (9/10).
Playing condition notes: Neck is straight, intonation is good, action is low, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Frets have negligible wear, there's heaps of life in them (9/10). Setup with fresh 10/46s and playing very nicely indeed.
