Fender '62 Reissue P, CIJ 97-00 in vintage white, with a few tweaks. This is the lightest Fender Bass ever to grace Topshelf with it's presence, it weighs in at 3.5kg. Your back will love you for it! It's had some pretty cool mods done too: Seymour Duncan pickup, Gotoh machine heads, refinished neck in satin and a light relic job. It all makes perfect sense in the hands: it's super easy to play. The pickup adds some warmth and clarity, the tone is very full and satisfying. If you're after a sweet looking P that you can easily belt out long sets with night after night, this will tick all the boxes.
Model: Fender Precision Bass '62 Reissue, PB62-53
Made: Japan, 1997-2000 (serial O012971)
Finish: vintage white, 3-ple red tort guard, light relic applied
Body: basswood
Neck: maple with rosewood board, dot inlays
Weight: 3.5kg (whoa!)
Mods: pickup replaced, machine heads replaced with Gotog GB640s, finger rest added, neck refinished in satin
Pickup: Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage P Bass
Case: basic gig bag
Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear, aside from deliberate relic-job. You can see the deliberate exposed wood from the relic, as well as some checking on the back. There's some holes from a previous bridge cover, and a bottom-side rest attached. Overall: good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look very fresh, they're either very recently replaced or dressed, 9/10. Set up with fresh 45/105s. So good!
