Fender Strat '57 reissue, Custom Edition series, transparent green with gold hardware. What a stunner! The Custom Edition hit the Fender Japan catalog in 1993, but this model was made in late 1992. The body looks like a lot like sen ash, but the catalog specs American basswood; being such an early model, it's possible this was made from ash before the model specs were finalised. The gold hardware has aged beautifully, it really pops against the fairly outrageous green body. The moderately shaped neck feels familiar and inviting, it's an easy player with a real sense of class. The tone is classic Strat: heaps of spank, glassy highs, punchy mids and abrupt-but-warm attack. These models are pretty rare and very few ever make it of Japan. Stand out from the crowd!
Model: Fender Stratocaster '57 Reissue Custom Edition (ST57G-65)
Made: Japan, neck dated 25 Nov 1992 (serial N011642)
Finish: transparent green, 1-ply white guard, gold hardware
Body: sen ash (unverified)
Neck: maple with maple board, dot inlays
Mods: none
Pickups: Original Fender Japan ST Vintage

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. There's a bit of a gash on the front of the body near the rear strap pin, as well as some little dings on the top horn and near the input jack. The back has some minor dings too, nothing too noticeable. There's some normal play wear on the guard and normal dulling of the gold hardware. Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some normal wear, but there's life in them yet, 7/10. Serious spank!
