(ARCHIVE) Vantage AV-325B Avenger Bass Transparent Blue 1981

Vantage Avenger Bass, blue, made in Japan 1981. The Vantage brand was owned by the same company as the iconic Matsumoku factory, which built a whole bunch of gorgeous instruments in the 70s and 80s, including the infamous 'lawsuit' Ibanez models. This is kinda P-bass-ish, with a single split single coil pickup and a moderately chunky maple neck. The maple board, ash body and brass bridge combine for a pretty angry, thick and immediate take on the P-style growl. It's a lot of fun to play, and the natural resonance and quality woodwork is really convincing. It's a bit funny looking, but in a quirky and fun way, much like myself really. Give yourself the ad-Vantage.
