Warwick Pro Series Star Bass, black, made in Korea 2011. I'm a big fan of these basses, they're so cool. The first take on the Pro Series was made in Korea, and was Warwick's first take at making a pro-quality instrument outside their home in Germany. They were widely hailed as brilliant instruments: excellent build quality, well designed, simple and clean aesthetic... all class. There's some classically Warwick features like a wenge fretboard, adjustable nut, angles tuners and brass frets, but this is obviously quite a departure from their better-known Thumb and Corvette models. The semi-hollow body and big passive pickups make for a creamy, warm, rounded, thick tone... perfect for anchoring a mix in a rock setting, but it'd translate well across a few genres I'm sure. The neck is similar to a P-bass in profile and sits nicely in the hands, it's overall a well-weighted and comfy player. It's going to look so, so good on stage, right?

Model: Warwick Pro Series Star Bass 4FR
Made: Korea, 2011 (serial WPS K-000050-11)
Finish: gloss black
Body: laminate maple with center block
Weight: 4.060kg
Neck: maple with wenge board, brass frets, 12" radius, 34" scale
Mods: none
Pickups: MEC passive single coils

Cosmetic condition notes: mild finish wear. Headstock has some minor scuffs on the end. The neck has some minor scuffs on the back, it's clean and smooth in the hands. The back has a handful of light scuffs on the horns and in the middle of the body, no major marks. The sides have minor dimples in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has a few minor dimples around the bridge, near the knobs and  =in the elbow area, as well as some standard scuffs from play around the pickups. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets have some minor wear but are looking great, 8/10 for life left. Set up with flatwound strings.

This listing is an archived entry. We love to look back and remember fondly what characters we've had through the store, so we keep them around for reference.
