Yamaha FG-202 acoustic, made in Japan 1968 approx, natural finish. These vintage FG series guitars are nice little things. This one dates to the late sixties, according to headstock shape and serial, but the exact year beyond that is a little mysterious. It's similar in size and shape to a Martin 000, so it's got the 24.8" scale and a smaller 'auditorium' size body. It's in remarkable shape for a sixties guitar, it looks seriously schmick. The neck is a comfy very soft-V profile, it's fairly slim and very agreeable and never makes you work too hard. The fretboard is a gorgeous super dark piece of rosewood, you don't see that on new guitars often! Being a smaller body, it's easy to hold and get around and it has a certain presence and honk through the midrange, so it's a lot of fun for fingerstyle playing or bluesy riff work. If you're after a handy little companion for the couch at your place, this is a tidy little housemate.
