Yamaha Lord Player in brown sunburst, made in Japan 1984. This is one of Yamaha's earlier Lord Player models, they were made from 1983-1986 as a more vintage-correct update on the well-renowned Studio Lord models of 76-82. Yamaha changed a few things, so you get some nice additions: non-sandwich mahogany body, one piece mahogany neck, vintage Gibson style tuners, the more audacious open-book style headstock. The burst finish on this has aged gracefully; you can see the slight 'ripple effect' where the lacquer has soaked into the grain from certain angles. It has that big, full, bright tone and loves a big bend. As is typical of Yamaha's Gibson-style guitars of this era, the build quality is exceptional, everything is spot-on. The sound, look and feel of this LP is very classy and will keep some very expensive guitars honest. The hardcase is a handy bonus too. Lovely!

Model: Yamaha Lord Player LP4000
Made: Japan, 1984 (serial 141738)
Finish: brown sunburst over plain maple
Body: 4-piece mahogany, plain maple top
Neck: 1-piece mahogany, rosewood board
Weight: 4.0kg approx
Mods: none
Neck pickup: original covered PAF-style humbuckers
Case: generic hardcase, good quality, excellent condition

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. There's a couple of marks on the end of the headstock, as well as some clouding on the black headstock veneer. Neck is pretty clean. The back has a couple of shallow and small dents: near the large cavity cover, near the rear strap pin, near the switch; as well as some light buckle rash scuffing. The sides are pretty clean, just some very minor dimples. The front is pretty clean too, just some very small dimples near the knobs and bridge and some light play scratches on the guard and top horn. Overall: very good condition (8/10)

Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electrics tested and working properly. Frets look good, there's  minor wear only, 8/10 for life left. Wearing fresh 11/49s.
