BC Rich Mockingbird-780JE Blue Burst 1998
BC Rich Mockingbird, blue burst, made in China 1998. The Mockingbird debuted in 1975, and various examples of the iconic model have been seen in the hands of some wildly notable players: Slash, Kerry King, Josh Homme, Dave Mustaine and Gerard Way, to name but a handful. This example dated to the late 90s and has the transparent blue finish to prove it. It plays very nicely: the slim C shaped neck is comfy, it's lightweight and well balanced, the bridge holds up nicely... it's surprisingly practical. The passive humbuckers do the job too: snappy and clear up top, balanced smooth mids, plenty of low end oomph. These don't come around all that often, and it's absolutely got a thing going on.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has scuffs on the end and back. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, rub wear and some dimples on the back only. The back has minor dents on the top horn, neck join and around the tremolo cavity, dimples along the back edge and elbow area and widespread minor scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor scuffs and dents around the whole body as well as some dents on the top horn and elbow area and some chips on the points on the bottom side. The front has dimples along the back edge and near the jack and some play wear around the strings.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 9/46 strings.
Fret Life: 8/10, minor wear only
