Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster Butterscotch Blonde 2000
Fender AVRI '52 Tele, butterscotch blonde, made in USA 2000. This is so beautiful. The neck is covered head to foot in super fine checking lines and fading, it looks amazing. The American Vintage line launched in 1982 to critical acclaim: finally Fenders made how they used to be, This one dates to 2000, right in the middle of the long-running series' tenure. It's a gorgeous example of a blackguard style T: ash body, maple board, single ply black guard, brass saddles on the ashtray bridge, vintage controls, all dressed in the classic butterscotch with the grain peaking through. The tone is awesome: equal parts fat and chiming, punch and shimmer. The neck pickup has that glassy clarity and the bridge has that creamy kick through the mids, it's very satisfying. The neck is a soft V shape, carved from some very consistently grained maple; it feels like home straight away. This rules, it will surely nail the Tele-brief.
