Fender Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe Build WRHBs Olympic White 2024
Fender Shiflett Tele Deluxe build, olympic white, assembled in Australia 2024. This nasty pasty, and it's companion build, were dreamt up and brought into existence by a regular Topshelfer. Let's break down what we've got here. First, the neck is a Mex-made maple and rosewood Chris Shiflett model, which feels great. That's paired with a Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Deluxe body. The mint-black-mint pickguard was custom CNC cut by Fletcher Handcrafted Guitars, who also adjusted the routing of the body to accommodate the additional controls and different shaped pickups. The pickups are a set of Fender Wide Range HBs, totally rebuilt by Melbourne's Madlove Pickups. They've gone nuts: proper CuNiFe magnets, Formvar wire, vintage bobbins, four-wire outputs... the whole works. They sound fantastic: big girthy lows, heaps of growl and poke through the mids, shimmery expansive highs. The clever five way switch means you can split the pickups to either coil, and every position hum cancels, and... there's a phase reverse switch. Clever stuff, and heaps of fun to mess around with. If you're after an extra deluxe Deluxe, this one is much deluxe indeed.
