Fender Classic Player Baja '50s Telecaster Butterscortch Blonde 2011
Fender Baja '50s Tele, blonde, made in Mexico 2011. These Baja models were fantastic, and like many Mex-made models that were probably better than most standard USA stuff, they were discontinued pretty quickly. They were designed by the team at Custom Shop, so you get a few interesting touches: lightweight swamp ash body, big chunky soft-V neck, and some CS pickups with clever wiring. Unplugged, it's lightweight and very resonant, and the neck has a certain comfy feeling to it despite it's generous size. The pickups are awesome: sparkling clarity and piano-like bass from the neck pickup, expansive creamy growl and warmth from the bridge. The four way switch offers series and parallel options, and there's a push/pull tone control for out-of-phase sounds to boot. The classic fifties-style look pulls no punches, but dang: why mess with a classic? Very classy for not much brass.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has a minor dent on the treble edge. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has scuffs around the ferrules and some scuffs and rub wear near the jack and elbow area. The sides have dimples in the elbow area and back edge and some scuffs near the jack. The front has scuffs in the elbow area and around the bridge and some dimples near the knobs play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: excellent condition (8.5/10)
Playing condition notes: action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
