Fender Highway One Stratocaster Guitarwacky Blue Sparkle Relic 2006
Fender Highway One Strat, refinished and aged by Guitarwacky NYC, made in USA 2006. This is super cool. Guitarwacky is a one man show in New York City, offering relic takes on USA made models in some super snazzy and creative finishes. This one looks outstanding: sky blue, glass glitter style sparkle through the paint, super thin clear coat and a tastefully applied bit of aging. The plastics have been yellowed and the hardware corroded to match, so it all ties together beautifully. The guitar underneath was good to start with too: the Highway One series were always good value. You get a fast modern C shaped neck, with big tall frets and a bend-friendly 9.5" radius, paired with a comfy light body and vintage style hardware. The Texas Special pickups are hot and punchy, with a scooped voice that's great with overdrive and loves assertive styles like punk and funk. This presents and sounds like a much pricier item than it is, so it's surely a great score for a Strat-enthusiast.
