Fender Japan '72 Stratocaster ST72 Olympic White 2010
Fender '72 Strat, olympic white, made in Japan 2010. A white Strat, with a big headstock and a mint guard? Sounds pretty slick to me. This creamy dreamy creature started life as a 1972 style model, so it's got the big bold black logos, a moderately chunky U-shaped neck with an attractive streaky rosewood fretboard, three single coil pickups and the cool block style saddles on the bridge. The previous owner has rubbed the finish on the front down to a satin style look and feel, as well as adding some relic-style bald spots here and there and a cool mint guard; it's not a Custom Shop quality job, but it looks and feels pretty cool I reckon. The pickups sound great: snappy and clear on top, rounded and weighty on the bottom end, with a creamy sweetness through the mids. It's very fun to play, it nails all those in-between position tones and has a great balance of body and slice. This is a great Strat, it looks the part too.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor dimples on the end and bottom edge. The is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has surface scratches on both horns, scuffs along the bottom and back edges and the elbow area as well as a dent near the rear strap pin. The sides have scuffs on the top horn, a bald patch, a dent and some sanding marks in the elbow area, finish chips and some scuffs on the back edge, a bald patch and some rub wear near the jack and dimples on the bottom horn. The front has a bald patch up from the middle pickup, dents on the top horn and elbow area, minor damage to the knobs and the finish has been lightly sanded all over the front to a satin finish. .
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 10/46 Moonshiners strings.
