Fender Japan Jazzmaster JM66-85 Sunburst 2007
Fender Jazzmaster, sunburst, crafted in Japan 2006-8. Few guitars get pulses racing like a Jazzy, and this one looks especially snazzy. The plastics have aged to a creme caramel hue and the sunburst has a lovely depth to it, it's all very tasty. The slim C shaped neck is very comfy in the hands, and like many of these mid 00s CIJ guitars, it's blessed with some gorgeous maple and rosewood and has been put together with a lot of care. Plug it in, and it sings with a bright, wide voice, with a shimmering top end, understated creamy mids and a pleasing plonk on the low end. The natural zing and slice means you can add as many layers of disgusting fuzz and wild ambient effects and still hear your notes; it's a lot of fun if you're into perilous pedalboard pizzazz. Includes the trem arm. Life is grand.
