Fender Japan Stratocaster ST57-58US Sunburst 2003
Fender '57 Strat, sunburst, made in Japan 2002-4. This is simple and satisfying. The 1957 version of the Stratocaster had a gold spaghetti logo, maple board, two tone finish, one ply guard, three single coils and a six point tremolo bridge, so this gets all those things in homage to the legendary original. These ST57 models have a generous neck shape: a fat D-profile that sits in the hand beautifully. The USA pickups are bright and clear, with a fast bass response, even, smooth mids and a chirpy top end. There's plenty of oomph when you dig in hard, this sounds awesome. You can't go too wrong here: it's in great shape for a 22 year old guitar and absolutely understands the Strat assignment.
