Fender Japan Stratocaster ST62-US Shell Pink 2008
Fender '62 Strat, Shell Pink, made in Japan 2007-10. If you're a fan of beaten up pink Strats, you'll fit right in around here. This cool cucumber is a '62 style model, so it gets Kluson-style tuners, a gold 'spaghetti' logo, slab rosewood fretboard, three-ply white guard, stamped saddles and a set of 60s-voiced single coil pickups. These ST62 models have a neck shape that always wins fast friends in the shop: that slim vintage C is super comfy, and the dark rosewood and tight maple on offer here are tasty pieces. The sound is spangly Strat spank: glassy clarity on the top end, dry and warm mids, punchy quick lows. It will slice through a mix when required, but delivers the gooey goodness too. The finish has plenty of knocks and bruises and has yellowed and mellowed a lot, but hey: it's been through some stuff, but it's cleaned up and is ready for another round... who am I to judge?
