Fender Japan Telecaster TL62 Sunburst 2010
Fender '62 Telecaster, sunburst, made in Japan 2010-11. This is a great Tele: simple, enjoyable. The 1962 version of the Tele got the silver spaghetti logo, Kluson-style tuners, a slab rosewood fretboard, heel-end truss adjuster, 3-ply pickguard and an alder body, so this one is kitted out to match that winning combination. The neck is a super agreeable vintage slim C: this profile wins many friends fast in the store, it's instantly easy. The pickups deliver a gorgeous gooey warm take on the Tele twang: fat and piano-like on the low end, expansive and breathy through the mids and sweet and open on the top end. The sunburst looks great too, there's some nice grain on show under the glow. You could spend double this cash on a new USA example and quite possibly get a less convincing guitar.
