(SOLD) Fender Made In Japan Hybrid Telecaster Deluxe Charcoal Frost 2019
Fender MIJ Hybrid Tele Deluxe, charcoal frost, made in Japan 2019. I'm a fan of the Tele Deluxe as a genré, a pair of humbuckers really brings out something convincing in the Tele shape in my opinion. This Hybrid model is the current offering from Fender Japan, so it's mixing up some elements from different eras : sixties style logos, fifties style beefy U shape neck, modern 9.5" radius, seventies style pickups... a bit of this, a bit of that. The pickups were designed by Tim Shaw and made in USA, and they offer a good tonal balance between punchy attack and singing sustain. There's a thick and full low end and midrange, so it's fun for big rhythm parts, but plenty of snap and sizzle on deck for lead lines too. The neck is a whisker on the beefy side, so that sits really nicely in the hands and means you choose your notes a bit more carefully. The charcoal finish was a limited run and has that fun 'almost black until you look up close' mystery to it, and I'd wager the metallic pearl would come out perfectly under lights. Heaps of fun, looks tip top, plenty of heft to the tone... you can't ask for much more than that really.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock and neck are pretty clean, no major marks. The back has some light scuffs along the belly carve and near the ferrules, no major marks. The sides are pretty clean. The front has a couple of dents on the back edge near the knobs and some light scuffs from play on the guard and horns. Overall: excellent condition (9/10).
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. The frets are in good shape, 9/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 10/52 Moonshiners strings.
