Fender Made in Japan Hybrid Telecaster Deluxe Sherwood Green 2019
Fender MIJ Hybrid Tele Deluxe, Sherwood green, made in Japan 2019. I really could almost stop there, and that would probably be enough. The Tele Deluxe is one of Fender's best sounding and most versatile offerings, and Sherwood green is possibly Fender's finest finish. It looks stupendous: just sitting on the wall in the shop, it makes me feel all sorts of feelings. The Hybrid series combines some vintage shapes and models with some mod cons, so this gets a 60s style skinny headstock, 70s style contours and controls and a modern 9.5" radius with medium jumbo frets for increased shredability. The pickups are Fender's recent Shawbuckers: designed by the legendary Tim Shaw, they're a humbucker voiced for a generous brightness and balanced clarity. It's a perfect guitar for punk, emo or gunge stuff and easily crosses over from juicy thick chords to winding complex lead parts, both in feel and sound. The new Hybrid II series doesn't come in this finish, so hey: the future is green, yeah?
