Fender Made in Japan Traditional 60s Jazzmaster Black 2021
Fender MIJ Trad 60s Jazzmaster, black with matching headstock, made 2021. This take on the classic Jazzy was a Factory Special Run edition: black with painted headstock was not a catalog colour on the model. It looks super slick: those charming curves wear black well, it's certainly a looker. As is common with recent MIJ stuff, the neck is a generous U shape: not a baseball bat, but certainly on the fatter side. It holds tune nicely, balances well and generally has a nice feel to it. The pickups deliver a gooey, rounded take on the classic Jazzy chime. To be sure, that bridge pickup still slices with gusto, but the overall tone is on the plump and warm end of the JM-spectrum. It's a nice thing.
