Greco Spacey Sounds TE500 Natural 1977
Greco TE500, made in Japan 1977, natural finish. These 70s-era Greco Thinline style models always turn heads in the shop, and rightly so: they're such great guitars. This example dates to early 1977, and has all the natural wear to prove it. It's lightweight and resonant in the hands, with an agreeable moderate neck that feels like an old friend. The tone on tap is terrific: thick and warm down low, amazingly open and complex through the mids, sweet and clear on the top. As a rhythm guitar, it's hard to beat: the breathy shimmer adds a gorgeous glow to every chord. These are harder to find than they were a couple of years back, so I was pleased to score this one to offer up for a friendly dime. Spacey goodness.
