Ibanez JTK1 Jet King Ivory 2004
Ibanez JTK1 Jet King, ivory, made in Indonesia 2004. I' m a big fan of these. The Jet King line was a short-lived tribute to Ibanez' early guitars; those sweet pawnshop finds with funky body shapes and an offbeat charm. This was the first iteration of the model, so it's got the cute little horns and aluminium guard and the 60s-style switches to split the pickups. It's a sturdy player, with a comfy moderate rounded neck and a sturdy hardtail bridge complementing the slightly offset body. The tone is snarly and immediate, with plenty of attack and heft on the HB settings and plenty of slice and chime on the single coil modes. The 'ivory' finish has further yellowed and mellowed and copped a few knocks here and there, which along with the cool 60s style decal, quirky tailpiece and cool guard make for a really fun look. These disappeared from the Ibanez catalog far too soon in my books, so hey snap up a cool used one and party like it's 2004.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has minor dimples on the end and both edges. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples and rub wear on the back only. The back has a chip on the bottom edge, dimples along the back edge and elbow area and some scuffs on both horns and the middle of the body. The sides have dimples on the top horn and elbow area, a chip and some scuffs near the jack and some rub wear on the bottom horn. The front has front has a chip on the bottom horn, scuffs around the tailpiece, elbow area and back edge and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: good condition (7/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 8/10, minor wear only
