Ibanez Premium JEM77P Steve Vai Blue Floral Pattern 2024
Ibanez Premium JEM77P, blue floral, made in Indonesia 2024. Few guitarists have impacted the music universe like Steve Vai. He originally made a name for himself playing guitar for prog royalty Frank Zappa, before going on to widespread recognition for his virtuosic talent in his own right. This is the recent Premium series version of the iconic JEM model. Premium launched around 2010 as a stepping stone between their regular line and their increasingly pricey Prestige offerings. It's got some nice specs: a fancy five piece neck with super slick rolled edges and the gorgeous 'tree of life' inlay, Dimarzio Vai-sig pickups, Edge Zero-II tremolo... snazzy. The blue floral finish will not be to everyone's taste, but geez, it's well executed and certainly makes a nice change from the standard white/black/sunburst options we've done to death. The sound is great: smooth and balanced, teethy growling mids, tight and tidy bass. The HSH setup is pretty versatile, you can pull all manner of useful sounds out of it. Steve has grown on me over the years, and I reckon this guitar will grow with you too.
