Kent 820 Hollow Body Sunburst 1968
Kent 820 hollow body, sunburst, made in Japan 1968. Kent gutiars popped up briefly in the mid 60s, selling guitars to the USA and other exports markets that seem to have been made in the Guyatone factory at the time. The 820 packs a bit of bling: mother of pearl inlaid headstock, triple bound fretboard, triple bound body, flame maple back... there's a lot going on, but it looks awesome in a 60s-futuristic kinda way. The single coil pickups have cute clear covers and deliver a snappy, full tone with plenty of crisp definition. The neck is pretty slim but feels comfy and agreeable, and has weathered the decades nicely. There's a lot to like here, it's very cool.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. The headstock has scuffs and dimples on the end, dimples on both edges, scuffs on the front around the posts and some dimples on the back near the top. The is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some minor chips in the clear coat on both horns, the bottom corner and the middle of the body, dimples in the elbow area and back edge, surface scratches in the middle of the body and widespread light scuffs around the whole body. The sides have minor dimples and scuffs around the whole body as well as some dents in the elbow area and near the jack. The front has some dents near the knobs, tailpiece, F-hole and top horn, as well as dimples in the elbow area, around the pickups and knobs and a surface scratch near the jack and some play wear on the guard and horns.
Overall: very good condition (7.5/10)
Playing condition notes: Action is low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. All electronics tested and working properly. Wearing fresh 11/49 Moonshiners strings.
Fret life: 6/10, normal wear and fairly low in height but pretty even and playing nicely with no major buzz issues
