Memphis A2TMB Metallic Blue 1989
Memphis A2TMB, metallic blue, made in Korea 1989. This is a cute little rock machine. It's got a 24" scale neck, more akin to a Mustang or Jaguar than a 3/4 scale guitar, which is nicely made with careful fretwork and a slim rounded carve. The body is undersize compared to a regular Superstrat, so it's comfy to noodle about on the couch with or might suit someone of smaller stature. The pickup delivers snarly rock tones with plenty of low end oomph and plenty of midrange kick. If you look under the covers, you can see the finish started life as a bright metallic blue, akin to Fender's lake placid blue. It's yellowed a lot over the decades to a super cool teal metallic, which looks extra boss with the matching headstock. Ten tonnes of fun for 2.7kg worth of dollars.
