Morris W-30, made in Japan 1975, natural finish. Morris stuff did really well in Japan for several decades; these earlier examples are nicely made little Martin-style guitars that punch well above their price bracket. This one is based off the iconic D-28, so it's got a traditional square shoulder dreadnought shape with a dovetail joint, rosewood back and sides and a tasty tightly grained spruce top. The binding and rosette really make the golden aged spruce pop; it's a gorgeous looking thing. The tone is big: beefy and boisterous in the low end, balanced by a bright and brilliant treble that means all your notes come out clear and strong. The neck is slim, straight and slick; it feels comfy and never makes you work hard for it. This is a friendly, big hearted acoustic... take it home to meet the family.

Cosmetic condition notes: minor finish wear. Headstock has a couple of dimples on the end. The neck is clean and smooth in the hands, minor dimples on the back only. The back has some 'clouding': the white hazing is caused by exposure to humidity over time, but it's clean and clear to the touch. There's also widespread light scuffs on the back and a green stain on the top shoulder, nothing nasty. The sides have no major marks, just a few light scuffs on the bottom edge. The front is pretty tidy, jut a couple of dimples on the top edge and some play wear on the guard and horns. Overall: good condition (7/10).

Playing condition notes: action is moderately low, neck is straight, intonation is good, truss rod works. Frets look pretty even and in good shape, 8/10 for fret life left. Wearing fresh 12/54 Moonshiners strings.
