Squier Simon Neil Stratocaster Fiesta Red 2013
Squier SImon Neil Strat, Fiesta Red, made in China 2013. Simon plays for Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro, who are a pretty huge deal in the UK but have won plenty of international acclaim. It's based on his 1963 Strat in original Fiesta, and has a few cool specs you don't get on a standard Classic Vibe these days: most notably, an alder body and a rosewood fretboard. You also get some Simon-spec pickups, with alnico V magnets on the bass strings and III's on the treble, for enhanced clarity through the top end and plenty of punch down low. It certainly works: the thing sounds great. This is heaps of Strat for the cash, and it's cool to score a discontinued model that comes packing the goods.
