Twenty Cent Guitar Co Blackwood Singlecut Special 2025
Twenty Cent Guitar Co Blackwood Singlecut Special, made in Australia 2025, natural satin. 20c is the project of local Hobart guitar maker Tim Caldwell, combining some native Australian tonewood with twists on some classic shapes. This one takes the classic LP shape, but it's a slimmer, lighter body built with a pretty involved multi-ply veneer construction. It's very stable and nice and resonant, and the usual fragility around the headstock join is totally gone with this style of build. The slim profile is comfy too, it's nice in the hands. The sound is a clear, snappy take on the LP-style growl, mixing in some of the sparkle of a Tele and the punchy immediacy of an SG. The pale blackwood top looks nice too.
