Twenty Cent Guitar Co Snakevine Dreaming, made in Australia 2026. 20c is the project of local Hobart guitar maker Tim Caldwell, combining some native Australian tonewood with twists on some classic shapes. This is Tim's most involved build to date, there's really is so much work in this. The body is a seven-ply, multi-species veneer, all laminated by hand and cut to the reference the classic Iceman shape. The neck is a multi-ply number too, topped with a gorgeous African ebony board with the cute little floral inlays. The finish uses a commercially available licensed fabric print by WA indigenous artist Kirsty Anne Napanangka Martin, with an epoxy resin clearcoat on top to ensure it holds up for many decades to come. The neck is a chunky D style shape with a slightly wide 44mm nut, so i you like them with a bit of meat in the back, you'll like it. Tone-wise, you get a balance of smoothness and bite, with a good spread across the frequencies and a pleasing growl when you dig in hard. There's a lot of details and intricacies to enjoy here, it's certainly quite something.
